In a romantic valley not far from the medieval town of Sighişoara lies the Valea Verde Resort. Here we have established a very special place for our guests in the small village of Cund. Our love of nature, our close affinity with the country, our special sense for creating a soothing and relaxed atmosphere and our passion for good food formed the essential principles that guided us in our endeavor.
When walking under the canopy of ancient trees, horse riding in the hills, watching the sunset by the natural pool or enjoying a romantic candlelight dinner in our restaurant – you will find your spirit for the eternal values that count in life rekindled. By tranquility and nature. Stimulation and relaxation. Family and friends. Being active and moving about. And the ability to celebrate every minute of your time in Cund with all your senses.
With our very best wishes,
Jonas and Ulrike Schäfer.
At Valea Verde Resort it is the owner himself who prepares your meals. Jonas and Ulrike Schaefer and their team will indulge you every day of your stay with a rich breakfast buffet and, should you so wish, a light lunch and a delicious 3-course dinner, accompanied by an exquisite selection of regional and international wines.
Our passion for wines, be they local or international, has led to hosting a variety of truly exciting wine tastings. Expert Sommeliers and/or wine-makes will introduce the historical, technical and culinary background of exciting and tasty wines and pair them with some small delicious bites from the Valea Verde kitchen to also touch on the subject of wine and food pairing.
In summertime the Valea Verde Lounge is welcoming guests, who would like to enjoy a nice glass of wine in a charming setting with great views of the Valea Verde Swimming lake and the Transylvanian Wilderness! You are most welcome to also have lunch or dine in the Lounge or just spend some relaxing time in the shade during the day or admire the starlit sky at night…. We also welcome groups of up to 80 People for an dining experience with amazing views of the rolling hills and green valleys – please feel free to inquire!
Slowly the word is spreading, that Transylvania has huge amounts and excellent quality of black truffles – the “culinary gold” of the forest! Apart from being terribly elusive and mysterious, truffles actually taste really good and are rightfully an important ingredient in the classic cuisine of most Western advanced culinary cultures!
